1. Yuri!!! On Ice
It is not a story of a champion. This is about Yuuri Katsuki, the skater who fails to win at the Grand Prix Finale ice skating competition. When Yuuri returns home, he feels like quitting the sport he loves. But, he is hesitant to retire.
Yuuri tries to cool his head in the comfort of his home. As He gets back to his feet, he encounters the five-time world champion skater Viktor Nikiforov and the Russian figure skater Yuri Plisetsky. Viktor, Yuuri and Yuri then decide to challenge the Grand Prix series together.
The first three episodes of the anime will be previewed in Toho Cinemas in Sept. 2016. The TV series will air on Oct. 6, 2016.
2. Occultic;Nine
The 17-year-old student Yuta Gamon creates an occult summary blog that brings together the nine idiosyncratic individuals. Small incongruities that transpire around these nine eventually turn into a larger, an unimaginable phenomena that may change the original concept of common sense.
A-1 Pictures’ Occultic;Nine will be broadcast on Oct. 8, 2016. The anime will be aired every Sunday.
3. Bungou Stray Dogs Season 2
The sequel of Bungou Stray Dogs season 1 is slated to be released on Oct. 6. It will follow the original concept that centers on Nakajima Atsushi. Atsushi has been kicked out of his orphanage.
The main protagonist wanders around; he has no place to go to or food to eat. While Atsushi is standing by a river, he finds a man attempting to commit suicide.
Setting aside his growling stomach, Nakajima saves Dazai Osamu. Apparently, Dazai and his partner Kunikida are members of a detective agency. Dazai and Kunikida have supernatural abilities that they use for dangerous cases.
That day, when Atsushi finds Dazai, Dazai is chasing a tiger that appears in the area. The tiger seems to be connected to Atsushi. And once the chase is over, Atsushi will most likely get involve with the detectives again.
3. Nanbaka
This light anime will center on the lives of the inmates and guards of the world’s most formidable prison. Jugo, Uno, Rock and Nico are the four men who are assigned to the prison. Jugo is the man who tried to escape the prison once yet, ended up prolonging his time in jail.
There is also Uno, the guy who loves to gamble with women. And so is Rock, the person who is obsessed with fighting. Lastly, Nico, he may not look like it but he is incredibly fond of anime.
The action comedy series’ first episode screened at United Cinema Toyosu on Sept.19. Nanbakawill air on Oct. 7, 2016.
4. Watashi ga Motete Dousunda or Kiss Him, Not Me
Fujioshi will definitely relate to Kae Serimuna, a second year high school student who likes pairing two guys secretly. Hence, Kae finds herself shipping her classmates Igarashi-kun and Nanashima-kun.
When the female protagonist stresses over the death of an anime character she loves, she rapidly lose weight. Due to this, she becomes an attractive woman and Sae unexpectedly attracts the attention of kouhai Shinomiya-kun and her sempai Mutsumi.
How will the fujioshi deals with these guys with her mind full of BL fantasies? Find out as the anime airs in October 2016.
5. Haikyuu!! Season 3 or Haikyuu!!: Karasuno Koukou VS Shiratorizawa Koukou
Another popular sports anime gets a new season. It follows the story of Shouyo Hinata, a middle school student aspires to become a volleyball player who is at par with the little giant of Karasuno High.
Unfortunately, the little giant is no longer in Karasuno when Hinata applies to the volleyball team. Yet still, Hinata looks forward to reach and surpass his idol by bringing Karasuno to nationals.
The third season will take part after Karasuno and Aoba Josai’s match. The series will premiere on Oct. 8, 2016.
6. Drifters
This new anime is rated 17+ due to its violence and profanity. If fans are familiar with Tokyo Ghoul, the gruesome images are expected to be seen in this series. Drifters will debut on Oct. 7, 2016.
Shimazu Toyohisa, who gets involved at the Sekigahara Battle, manages to wound Ii Naomasa. Even so, Shimazu has injured himself. With little strength Toyohisa has, he walks while his blood gushes out from his wound.
In Shimazu’s near death situation, a corridor of doors appears before his eyes. With no further ado, a man named Murasaki pushes Toyohisa to the closest door causing him to awaken in another world.
In this realm, Toyohisa encounters the great warriors that have been transported through the doors like what has happened to him. From then onwards, the fighters join the group called Drifters.
7. Trickster
This event happens in 2030. The Boys’ Detective Team was created under the supervision of detective Kogorou Akechi. Both minor and major incidents occur because of the group’s actions.
One day, the Detective team member Kensuke Hanasaki comes across with Yoshio Kobayashi, a boy whose body cannot die due to the effects of an “unidentified fog.”
Yoshio only wishes for his own death. Taken an interest to Yoshio’s case, Kensuke invites Yoshio to join the Boys’ Detective Club.
The anime will have 24 episodes and will start to run from Oct. 4, 2016.
8. Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru
The 12-episode anime that will premiere on Oct. 3, 2016 follows the story of the Saniwa, an individual who can permeate life into objects.
This anime revolves around the cheerful life of the Touken Danshi, the strongest of the Saniwa.
9. Attack on Titan Season 2
Eren Jaeger wishes to slay the titans who had destroyed his home and have eaten his mother. Together with Eren’s childhood friends, Mikasa and Armin, they enter the military and fight the titans.
Attack on Titan season 2 will follow the first season’s ending where the Survey Corps is supposed to journey outside the wall. The anime’s second season is expected to premiere in 2017.
10. eIDLIVE
Chuuta Kokonose is an orphan. Chuuta, who lives with his aunt, is a normal boy until one day; a strange-looking creature follows him around.
Unexpectedly, this unknown specie transport Chuuta to a place where more creatures reside. According to Rein Brickle, Chuuta is in a space police Station.
Brickle, the Chief of Solar System Department, informs Chuuta that the computer must have chosen him as a candidate to join the police force. The anime will start to air in Jan. 1, 2017.
11. ChaoS;Child
It is set in the reconstructed Shibuya district in October 2015. Mysterious deaths occur in Shibuya amidst its reconstruction.
The citizens begin to notice the strange events on the same day a chaos happens. The phenomena is called the Return of the New Generation Madness.
SILVER LINK studios’ ChaoS;Child will air on Jan.1, 2017.
12. Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto Fujouou-hen
The anime that will premiere on Jan. 1, 2017 is set in the late Edo Period where the Impure Demon King murdered thousands of humans.
When the demon is defeated, the True Cross’ Knights keep its left eye sealed on the grounds of the Academy. Yet, the eye has been stolen. As Rin and Yukio hear about it, they immediately run after the thief.
13. Super Lovers Season 2
It will follow the story of Haru and Ren who met during summer. The second season will unveil whether Ren will go with Haru’s mother to Switzerland or not.
The Yaoi anime will star to run from Jan. 1, 2017. Please be reminded that this anime has a BL or Boys Love theme.
14. BanG Dream!
If fans are fond of watching girls performing together, this new anime will be a great addition to the list. Kasumi Toyama spots a star-shaped guitar in a pawnshop.
Along with Kasumi, there are four other girls who share the same goal as Kasumi, to find a perfect place where they can spark. The music-themed anime will make its debut on Jan. 1, 2017.
15. Kaitou Joker 4th Season
The fourth season of the anime Kaitou Joker will follow the original story concept of a Mysterious Joker who does not only steal things.
The thief travels with partner Hachi as they look for the Timeslip Treasure. It will premiere on Oct. 3, 2016.
16. WWW. Working!!
Daisuke Higashida is a first-year student, living with his family. As Daisuke’s father’s company goes into bankruptcy, his father tells him to apply for a part-time job.
Hence, Daisuke chooses to work for a nearby family restaurant. The anime will regularly broadcast starting from Oct. 1, 2016.
17. Lugar Code 1951
The anime centers on the genius professor who can learn any language. One day, he is asked to decipher a code used in wireless communication.
Werewolves, the enemies of mankind, develop the Luger code. When the professor finds himself in a pinch, he goes on a journey to capture a living wolf.
The TV anime will premiere on Oct. 22, 2016.
18. Stella no Mahou
This tackles the story of the high school student Tamaki Honda who joins the doujin game development circle. The anime will be regularly broadcast starting on Oct. 3, 2016.
19. Shishou series
For mystery themed lovers, this might be a good find. It centers on the protagonist who experiences several spiritual encounters.
He has been greatly involved with unnatural occurrence because of his college club’s upperclassman who has spiritual sensitivity. The anime series will debut on Dec. 13, 2016.
20. Hand Shakers
The new anime brings a yet another thought-provoking concept. It revolves around the individuals who claim to be the receivers of the Revelation of Babel, the challengers of God and they who throw themselves into battle.
21. Tokyo Ghoul Season 3 (Delayed due to making of Hunter X Hunter)
Ghouls are terrifying creatures. When Kaneki Ken comes across a ghoul he is accidentally transformed in half human half ghoul form. In order to survive he needs to adapt the ghoul life.
